厚壳树属
厚壳树属（学名：Ehretia，意為「（德國植物學家）艾雷特的」[4]）是厚殼樹科厚殼樹亞科的一個屬，为灌木或乔木植物[5]，一說此屬的植物樹皮頗厚，因而得名[6]。本屬是泛熱帶的類群，分布於各大陸的副熱帶與熱帶區域[3]，最初於中美洲的牙買加被正式紀錄[4]，但在已知65個現存物種中，超過半數是原生於亞洲東部至南部一帶，另有20餘種分布於撒哈拉以南非洲，熱帶美洲則僅有4種[3]。

厚殼樹屬是部分鞘翅目[7]與鱗翅目昆蟲[8]的寄主植物，果實則是食果性鳥類[9][10]與哺乳類[11]的取食對象。此外，本屬許多物種是部分亞洲與非洲民族的藥用植物[6][12][13]，或是製作器械的木材[14][15]，現今亦有作景觀用途者[6]。
形態描述 编辑
許多厚殼樹屬的植物屬於喬木，可以長至離地十餘公尺高，但也有部分物種反而多以灌木或亞灌木的狀態出現[16]。厚殼樹屬的葉具有葉柄，大多採互生，少數物種為簇生。葉形多變，可為卵形、倒卵形、披針形或橢圓形，葉緣也有全緣、波狀緣或鋸齒緣者[5][16]。葉脈為羽狀脈，其中側脈通常是不與葉緣相連的弓形脈（brochidodromous），亦偶見側脈連接葉緣的直達脈（craspedodromous）或半直達脈（semicraspedodromous）[17]。
厚殼樹屬的花為兩性花，採傘房狀或圓錐狀繖房花序，多為頂生。花萼分裂成五枚獨立的裂片，彼此以覆瓦狀的模式排列，萼片邊緣長有纖毛，萼片內表面則光滑無毛。花冠顏色多樣，白、黃、藍、粉紅皆有，呈筒狀或漏斗狀；花冠五裂，即五枚花瓣，裂片平展和裂片反折兩種狀態都能見到。五枚雄蕊常會伸出花冠外，花葯突出，呈橢圓形或線形。花柱頂生，上半部分為二叉，末端各有一個彎刀狀或棉花棒狀的柱頭。子房單一且呈卵形，具有二或四個室[5][17][16]。
本屬植物的果實皆為核果，呈卵形或球形，表面光滑無毛。就絕大部分的厚殼樹屬物種而言，內果皮成熟時會分裂為兩個具有兩粒種子，或是四個含有一粒種子的果核[5][16]，其表面常覆有網紋或脊狀隆起[17]；而曾被認為自成一屬，如今多視作厚殼樹屬成員的滿福木，成熟的內果皮則不會分裂[17][18]。
分類學 编辑
厚殼樹屬的屬名 Ehretia 於1756年由愛爾蘭植物學家派屈克·布朗首次提出，作為牙買加一種高大喬木的拉丁名。他以當時在歐洲享有盛名的植物學家暨科學繪圖師格奥尔格·埃雷特之姓為其命名，以表揚埃雷特在植物學界的貢獻，首幅描繪該屬物種的科學繪圖也是出自埃雷特之手[4]。布朗將包含這種喬木在內的植物標本從牙買加帶回倫敦，而這些標本後來輾轉由林奈買下[19]。1759年，林奈在《自然系統》一書中將布朗的喬木標本指定為新屬與新物種 Ehretia tinifolia 的模式標本[20]。
1845年，植物學家阿方斯·德康多爾將厚殼樹屬拓展至4個組與58個物種[21]，後來的研究多次更動這個數目，許多物種被移至同為厚殼樹亞科（或厚殼樹科）的綠心檀屬與 Bourreria 屬，抑或被視作異名。現今普遍將花柱二裂、果核數目、屬於喬木或灌木等特徵組合作為本屬的辨識依據[2][5][22]，但直至目前，各研究者尚未在厚殼樹屬的物種數上取得共識，較常被採納的看法是40[2][23]至50個[5][24]左右，下表則列出POWO所收錄的現生厚殼樹屬物種，有60餘個之多[3]：
