新獸腳類

新兽脚类（学名：Neotheropoda，意为“新的兽脚亚目”）是一个包括腔骨龙超科和更先进的兽脚类恐龙的演化支，也是三叠纪-侏罗纪灭绝事件中唯一一支幸存下来的兽脚类动物。除鸟吻类，所有新兽脚类在侏罗纪早期就已灭绝。

分类学

新兽脚类由罗伯特·巴克于1986年命名，并作为一个包括相对衍生的兽脚类分类群如角鼻龙类和坚尾龙类但不含腔骨龙超科的演化支。^[1]然而，大多数后来的研究者使用它来表示一个更广泛的演化支。1998年，保罗·塞里诺（英语：Paul Sereno）首次将其定义为：含有腔骨龙超科加上全部现代鸟类，包括除最原始物种以外的几乎所有兽脚类。^[2]
