楊氏蜥屬

楊氏蜥屬（學名：Youngina）是已滅絕雙孔亞綱爬行動物的一屬，生存在晚二疊紀的南非，化石發現於波弗特群（Beaufort Group）的Tropidostoma集合帶到二齒獸集合帶（Dicynodon Assemblage Zone）^[1]。

楊氏蜥與其它近親組成楊氏蜥科（Younginidae），是始鱷目的主要演化支。始鱷目是羅伯特·布魯姆（Robert Broom）在1924年所提出。但是，始鱷目已經成為「未歸類物種集中地」，包含許多生存於晚石炭紀到始新世間的原始雙孔類爬行動物，彼此的親緣關係相當遠。在1947年，阿爾弗雷德·羅默（Alfred Romer）建立楊氏蜥形目，包含楊氏蜥科與其少數的近親，用來取代始鱷目。楊氏蜥形目生存在二疊紀到三疊紀。

目前已經發現數個楊氏蜥的標本，其中數個標本原本被建立為其他屬，例如Youngoides、Youngopsis，但目前都被發現與楊氏蜥是相同動物^[2]。在20世紀初期，楊氏蜥的正模標本曾經過簡略的研究^[3]。Youngoides romeri最初是楊氏蜥的一個新種^[4]，之後被建立為新屬^[5]，Acanthotoposaurus^[6]。目前也是楊氏蜥的一個次異名^[7]。

在過去研究歷史中，楊氏蜥被認為最近親是盔齒龍，坦噶蜥科（霍瓦蜥、坦噶蜥、沙地歐龍、肯亞蜥）則是親緣關係較遠的近親，都被歸類於楊氏蜥形目。但是，目前還沒有楊氏蜥形目的種系發生學研究，牠們可能不是一個單系群，可能是並系群。盔齒龍可能與其他楊氏蜥形目物種是近親，而離楊氏蜥的關係較遠^[8]。

在早期爬行動物之中，楊氏蜥算是中型物種，頭顱骨略小於7公分，完整身長大約接近現代的砂巨蜥^[10]。某些早期研究認為楊氏蜥等早期雙孔類爬行動物的頭顱骨具有高度可活動性^[11][12]；近年研究顯示，楊氏蜥的腦殼、顎骨之間可能沒有可活動關節，類似現代喙頭蜥的頭顱骨^[13]。
