板龍類

板龍類（学名：Plateosauria）是蜥腳形亞目的一個演化支，生存於三疊紀晚期到白堊紀晚期。板龍類是由Gustav Tornie在1913年提出^[1]。在80年代以前，板龍類這名詞很少使用，直到新一代的古生物學家開始重新使用它。

在1998年，保羅.塞里諾（英语：Paul Sereno）（Paul Sereno）將板龍類定義為：恩氏板龍、刀背大椎龍的最近共同祖先、以及其最近共同祖先的所有後代^[2]。在2004年，彼得·加爾東（Peter M. Galton）與保羅·阿普徹奇（Paul Upchurch）使用不同定義：恩氏板龍、新窪金山龍的最近共同祖先，與其最近共同祖先的所有後代。根據這個分類法，板龍類包含板龍科以及著名的板龍，並屬於原蜥腳下目。加爾東與阿普徹奇另外列入了科羅拉多斯龍、優肢龍、祿豐龍、金山龍、大椎龍、鼠龍、鞍龍、以及雲南龍^[3]。有些古生物學家認為大椎龍與其近親屬於另一獨立的科，大椎龍科。

基礎蜥腳形亞目的親緣分支分類法仍在持續研究中，並有多種不同分類法。有些研究認為原蜥腳類、板龍類是異名，兩者有同樣範圍。近年研究多認為原蜥腳下目是個並系群，而蜥腳下目演化自原蜥腳類恐龍。如果按照這個定義，板龍類也將包含蜥腳類恐龍^{[4][5][6][7][8]}。
