珀里俄基人

珀里俄基人（英文：Perioeci，Periokoi），是斯巴达的一种社会阶级。他们是自由自治的人民但并非斯巴达的公民。人口集中在拉科尼亚和麦西尼亚沿海和高地地区[1]。原文希腊语写作“περίοικοι”，取自περί，peri，意为“周边”；οἶκος，oikos，意为“住所”。

在希腊黑暗时代所建立的斯巴达城邦，控制了埃夫罗塔斯河周边的平原。然而已经存在这个区域原住民中无法被斯巴达城邦同化或者征服（比如黑劳士）的，成为了珀里俄基人[2]。他们是否是多利安人（像斯巴达人那样的）或是传承自伯罗奔尼撒半岛的前多利安人已不得而知[3]。

地位 编辑

珀里俄基人的个人是自由的，不像黑劳士那样被奴役，但又不属于斯巴达公民。他们居住在他们自己的居住区，被古人称之为城邦的地方[4][5][6]。这些区域大多处于斯巴达城邦的控制之下，但在内政上享有自治权[7]。

珀里俄基人被要求遵守斯巴达的外交政策[1]，并为斯巴达军队提供人力[7]。与斯巴达公民（英语：Spartiate）一样，珀里俄基人作为重装步兵参战，可能被统一安排在同一个部队[8]。珀里俄基人对他们自己的土地享有权利[9]。

在古典时期，斯巴达人不被准许参与任何经济生产活动，而由珀里俄基人负责斯巴达的生产，包括了锻造武器和护甲，也包括了斯巴达城邦的商品交易[10]。举个例子，阿尔忒弥斯耳缇亚圣地（英语：Sanctuary of Artemis Orthia）中大量雕塑可能出自珀里俄基人工匠之手[11]。
