刻普斯陨石坑

刻普斯陨石坑（Cepheus）是位于月球正面东北部的一座撞击坑，其名称取自古希腊神话中的埃塞俄比亚国王刻普斯（英语：Cepheus (father of Andromeda)）（Cepheus），1935年该名称被国际天文学联合会正式接受。

刻普斯陨石坑的周边，月球勘测轨道飞行器拍摄。

该陨坑东南靠近更大的富兰克林环形山、东北偏北毗邻被熔岩淹没的奥斯特陨石坑。由于该陨坑接近月球侧边，因此，从地球上看，受透视影响其外观略呈椭圆状[1]。

该陨坑中心月面坐标为40°41′N 45°47′E / 40.68°N 45.78°E / 40.68; 45.78，直径39.43公里[2]，深约2.183公里[3]。

刻普斯陨石坑是一座相对年轻的撞击坑，外观轮廓大致圆形，南北端略为外凸，除东北段横跨了碗状的小卫星坑刻普斯 A外，其余部分坑壁仍保持完整、尖峭，其部分内壁面带有阶坡状结构，尤其是西北侧最明显。陨坑坑壁最大高出周边地形1020米[3]，内部容积约1155.94立方千米[3]。坑底表面相对平坦，中心点附近坐落了一座大体呈南北延伸的中央峰。
