霍顿陨石坑 (月球)

霍顿陨石坑（英語：Holden）是月球正面位于丰富海东侧的一座大撞击坑，约形成于酒海纪代[1]，其名称取自美国天文学家爱德华·辛格登·霍顿（英语：Edward Singleton Holden）（1846年－1914年），1935年被国际天文联合会正式批准接受。

描述

该陨坑坐落在文德利努斯环形山的东南侧壁上，西南毗邻罗特斯勒环形山；东北靠近拉梅环形山[2]。该陨坑的中心月面坐标为19°11′S 62°32′E / 19.19°S 62.53°E / -19.19; 62.53，直径47.6公里[3]，深度2.31公里[4]。

霍顿陨石坑的西北偏西侧壁上覆盖着直径12公里的卫星坑"霍顿 V"，沿东北内侧坡延伸着一道阶地状结构，坑壁平均高出周边地形1100米[1]，内部容积约有1786公里3[1]。碗状的坑底表面平坦，内部没有中央峰，中心点南面坐落着一座小陨坑。

火星上也有一座以"霍顿"之名命名的同名撞击坑——霍顿撞击坑。

按惯例，最靠近霍顿陨石坑的卫星坑在月图上以字母标注在该坑中心点的旁边。

  • 卫星坑"霍顿 V"已被月球和行星观测协会(ALPO)列入《带有明亮射纹系统的撞击坑列表》[5]。
