金貓屬

金貓屬（学名：Catopuma）是猫科下的一属，包含亚洲金猫和婆罗洲金猫两个物种[1]，它们一般体呈红棕色，头部有明显的斑纹[2][3]。两种金猫早在 490－530 万年前婆罗洲与邻近岛屿还未分离时便已分化[4]，它们最近的亲属是云猫（石纹猫）， 约 940 万年前云猫与金猫分化[5]。

金猫属由俄国学者尼古拉·谢韦尔佐夫在 1858 年以 Felis moormensis 为模式种建立[6]，该模式种由英国学者 Brian Houghton Hodgson 在 1831 年根据一只捕获自尼泊尔的亚洲金猫命名[3]，当时被归为猫属（Felis）的一种，现被归为亚洲金猫的北方亚种。
