石油战争

石油战争是指为石油资源或其运输、消费或监管而产生的冲突。该用语也可以指在有石油儲量的地区发生的冲突，或在具备或正准备发展石油产品的生产或运输的基础设施的地区发生的冲突。该用语也可以指一系列特定的石油战争中的某一场战争。

2016年的一项研究认为，石油战争在很大程度上是一个谬论。这项研究指出，支持石油战争的人低估了占领和开发外国油田的能力，从而夸大了石油战争的价值。这项研究调查了四场战争（日本发动的荷兰东印度群岛战役、伊拉克入侵科威特、伊拉克和伊朗的两伊战争、玻利维亚和巴拉圭的查科战争，这些战争通常被称为石油战争），发现控制更多的石油资源并不是发动冲突的主要目的。 ^[1]

2021年4月5日，美国副总统卡玛拉·哈里斯在奥克兰为推广美国就业计划（英语：American Jobs Plan）而进行的一次演讲中提到：“多年来，人们一直在为石油而战。在不久的将来，人们将为水而战”。 ^[2]
