瑪雅文字

瑪雅文字是中部美洲前哥倫布時期馬雅文明的文字系統，也是目前唯一被基本破译的中部美洲文字（英语：Mesoamerican writing systems）。最早的瑪雅文字記載可追溯至前3世紀瓜地马拉的圣巴特羅（英语：San Bartolo (Maya site)）遗迹[1][2]，而之後玛雅文字持續的被使用，直到西班牙的征服者在十六七世紀入侵馬雅後不久為止（之後部份較偏遠地區仍然持續使用了瑪雅文字一段時間，例如塔亞薩爾（西班牙语：Tayasal））。瑪雅文字是由音節文字字形組合成的意音文字，在功能方面與現代的日文有些類似。玛雅文字被十八九世纪的欧洲探险者们称作象形文字，他们不懂这些文字，而这些字让他们联想起了埃及的圣书体，但两者并无关系。

现代玛雅语言常用拉丁字母拼写，而不是玛雅文字[3]。

证据显示手抄本和其他古典文本由書吏写成—通常是玛雅圣职者（英语：Maya priesthood）—以古典馬雅語写成，这是已灭绝的Chʼoltiʼ语（英语：Chʼoltiʼ language）的书面语。[4][5] 或许玛雅精英阶层以此作为全玛雅语言地区的通用语，但这些文本也有以佩藤和猶加敦半岛的玛雅语言写成，尤其是猶加敦馬雅語。同时还有一些证据表明这些字体或许有时会被用来书写瓜地马拉高地（英语：Guatemalan Highlands）的玛雅语言。[5] 然而，如果其他语言被以玛雅文字书写，它们可能是被Chʼoltiʼ书吏写成的，也因此会有Chʼoltiʼ语的成分存在。

記錄 编辑

瑪雅刻本是記載馬雅文字的書籍，全球只剩四本，是文字研究的寶典，其他皆為西班牙人所毀；而大多數遺留的象形字，都是刻在神殿祭台的遺跡上。

雖然玛雅字符的字體结构與中國方塊字相似，可是是瑪雅字可由音節字母組成（實際排列方式類似契丹小字或韓文），這點與中國汉字一字一音节的情況不同：

 
 
在玛雅文字中，bʼalam「美洲豹」这个词的两种不同的书写方式（见上图）：其一，作为一个用单个字形（左，独体字符）表示整个单词 bʼalam 的象形符号；其二，使用三个音节符号（右，复合字符），bʼa（左偏旁）、la（右上）和 ma（右下）。

现况 编辑

90%的玛雅文字如今已经可以被解读（由于玛雅文字有表意文字，因此「解」和「读」是两个动作），并在墨西哥玛雅族民间有所教授。

電腦編碼 编辑

截至2023年，馬雅文字沒有被編於任何電腦文字編碼中。Unicode已暫時為馬雅文字劃定U+15500–U+159FF區段[6]。2016年6月3日，加利福尼亞大學柏克萊分校的文本編碼規範計畫獲得撥款以進行馬雅文字Unicode格式與呈現機制的提案流程，原計劃於2017年提交至Unicode聯盟[7][8]，但截至2023年該計劃尚未完成。 玛雅数字的0到0–1910已被编于Unicode玛雅数字区段当中。
