查尔斯·W·索卡里兹

查尔斯·W·索卡里兹（英語：Charles W. Socarides；1922年1月24日—2005年12月25日）是一名美國精神科醫師，精神分析学家，医生，教師和作家。他主力醫學項目為同性戀，認為同性戀是可以改變的。他協助成立同性戀研究及治療全國協會，並在該會工作至餘生。

生平

索卡里兹生於马萨诸塞州布罗克顿。13歲時閱讀了西格蒙德·弗洛伊德的著作後，便立志成為一名醫師和精神分析學家。他在1952年於哈佛大學畢業並在精神分析醫學院（今哥倫比亞大學精神分析訓練和研究中心）取得執照。他著有和合著有多本書藉，並在日界線、60分鐘和賴瑞金現場討論他的專業。在1992年他合辦同性戀研究及治療全國協會並為該會主席。此外他是美國精神分析協會終身會員，他在那裡主持一個討論小組。他亦是皇家醫學會的附屬會員。索卡里兹獲獎無數，包括紐約精神分析訓練中心頒發的西格蒙德·弗洛伊德獎和美国精神分析医师协会頒發的1987年西格蒙德·弗洛伊德獎等，以表揚他在精神科和精神分析的貢獻^[1]。

索卡里兹大部份研究均在同性戀項目，他與欧文·比伯（Irving Bieber）和莱昂内尔·奥弗西（Lionel Ovesey）代表了美國精神分析學界，認為同恐戀是可以治療的病^[2][3]。他認為同性戀是神经性适应一種，因此可以通過治療把同性戀者變成異性戀者^[3]。他指男同性戀者通常在2歲前發展出來，在還未形成恋母情结前發展。他的觀點是由於母親阻止男孩離開自己身旁，軟弱或不接受父親作為兒子的榜樣，也沒有努力支持他離開母親^[4][5]。

索卡里兹強烈反對把同性戀從精神疾病診斷與統計手冊的疾病列表中移除，並繼續認為同性戀是一項精神病^[6]。1992年，他與约瑟夫·尼科洛西（Joseph Nicolosi）和本杰明·考夫曼（Benjamin Kaufman）創立同性戀研究及治療全國協會，及強烈反對LGBT權利運動，認為會損害家庭中的性别角色^[7]。

索卡里兹育有五名子女，他的長子理查德·索卡里兹亦是同性戀者，曾出任比尔·克林顿政府的同性戀項目聯絡人高級顧問^[8]。
