巴哈伊信仰与佛教

佛教是巴哈伊信仰承认的曾在宗教经典中预言巴哈欧拉（彌勒佛）出现的九大宗教之一。佛陀被认为是连续出现的上帝的显示者之一。而最近佛教背景的巴哈伊信徒的数量也呈现增长的趋势。^[1]

概念上的区分

佛教和亞伯拉罕諸教中不同的宗教概念，在巴哈伊信仰有关的学术研究中引起讨论。Jamshed Fozdar指出佛教有关于不可知的实在的教义即对应者巴哈伊信仰中上帝的概念，^[1]如《小尼柯耶》中的《自說經》有经文道：“諸比丘！無生亦無物，無造亦無作。諸比丘！若無生、無有、無造作者，則所生、所有、所造、所作者，當不出現。諸比丘！無生、無有、無造、無作為者故，生者、有者、能造者、作為者當不出現。^[2]学者莫门（Moojan Momen）关于上座部佛教与巴哈伊信仰的伦理观总结出许多相似之处，并认为哲学层面的差异主要由与文化紧密相关的术语的不同所造成。^[1][3][4]

八聖道分

巴哈伊信仰支持八聖道分的所有部分：正見、正思維、正語、正業、正命、正精進、正念、正定。^[5]
