女性主义理论

女性主義理論（英語：Feminist theory）是女性主義在理論與哲學範疇的延伸。它旨在理解性別不平等的本質。它在多個學術領域觀察女性的社會角色、經驗、利益和政治參與，比如人類學和社會學、傳播學、精神分析學[1]、經濟學、文學、教育學、以及哲學。[2]

女性主義理論注重分析性別不平等。女性主義探索的主題包括歧視、物化（尤其是性物化）、壓迫、父權[3][4]、成見、美術史[5]、當代藝術[6][7]和美學。[8][9]

女性主義的歷史

女性主義理論首秀於 1792 年的出版物，比如《改變世界的女人（英语：The Changing Woman）》[10]、《我不是女人嗎？（英语：Ain't I a Woman）》[11]、《因非法投票被捕後的演講（英语：Speech after Arrest for Illegal Voting）》[12]等等。《改變世界的女人》是一個納瓦霍（美國最大的印第安部落）傳說，描述了一個造人的女神。[13] 1851 年，索杰纳·特鲁思在她的演講《我不是女人嗎？》中談論了婦女權利的問題。索杰纳·特鲁思認爲女性的權利受限在於男性對女性的錯誤認識。她論述，如果有色女性可以完成之前被認爲只限於男性的工作，那麼任何肤色的女性都可以完成那些工作。1872 年，蘇珊·布朗奈爾·安東尼，在她被以“非法投票”名義逮捕後，於法庭上發表了討論憲法中用語問題的演講《因非法投票被捕後的演講》，詰問當局憲法的原則和其中的男性中心用語。她發問，爲何女性受法律的制裁，但不受法律的保護？（女性結婚後，無法投票、拥有財產，全不自主）。她還批評憲法的男性中心文本，並質問爲何女性要遵守没有包含女性的法律。
