利奥诺拉·卡林顿

利奥诺拉·卡林顿（Leonora Carrington，OBE，1917年4月6日－2011年5月25日[1]）是一位英国出生的墨西哥艺术家，超现实主义画家和小说家。她成年后大部分时间生活在墨西哥城，是20世纪30年代的超现实主义运动最后幸存的参与者之一。[2]也是20世纪70年代墨西哥妇女解放运动团体的创始成员。[3]

早年生活

1936年，利奥诺拉在伦敦的国际展览上看到德国超现实主义艺术家马克斯·恩斯特的作品并被吸引。1937年，卡林顿与恩斯特在伦敦的一次聚会上相遇。他们一起回到巴黎，恩斯特随即与妻子分居。1938年，他们离开巴黎，在法国南部圣马丹达尔代克定居。他们互相合作和支持各自的艺术发展。两位艺术家共同创作守护动物雕塑，用来装饰自己圣马丹达尔代克的家。1939年，卡林顿为马克斯·恩斯特画了肖像，以纪念他们的关系。[7]

随着第二次世界大战的爆发，恩斯特作为德国人被法国当局当做敌对人士而逮捕。在保尔·艾吕雅和其他朋友，包括美国记者瓦里·安弗莱的说情下，几个星期后他被释放。

纳粹入侵法国后不久，恩斯特再次被捕，这次是被盖世太保逮捕，因为他的艺术品被纳粹认定为“堕落”。他在艺术品赞助商的帮助下设法逃脱，离开卡林顿逃往美国。[12]

恩斯特被捕后，卡林顿遭到很大打击。逃到西班牙后，瘫痪的焦虑和不断增长的妄想最终使她在马德里的英国大使馆彻底崩溃。她的父母进行了干预，让她住院治疗。医生用“電痙攣療法”治疗她并让她服用强效的抗焦虑药物卡地阿佐（这种药最终被一些权威部门禁用，包括美国食品药品监督管理局）和巴比妥类药物鲁米那。[13]

墨西哥
