APA格式

APA格式是一個廣為接受的研究論文撰寫格式，特別針對社會科學領域的研究，規範學術文獻的引用和參考文獻的撰寫方法，以及表格、圖表、註腳和附錄的編排方式。

正式來說，APA格式指的就是美國心理學會（American Psychological Association）出版的《美國心理協會刊物準則》，目前已出版至第七版（ISBN 978-1-4338-3217-8），總頁數428頁，而此協會是目前在美國具有權威性的心理學學者組織。APA格式起源於1929年，當時只有7頁，刊登於《心理學期刊（Psychological Bulletin）》[1]。

標題 编辑

根據APA格式，標題用來組織文章，使得其有層次架構。APA格式規定了文章內「標題」的特定格式（1到5級），此詳細內容可參閱《美國心理協會刊物手冊》第五版的第113頁，級數和格式如下：

  • 第1級：置中大小寫標題（Centered Uppercase and Lowercase Heading）
  • 第2級：置中、斜體、大小寫標題（Centered, Italicized, Uppercase and Lowercase Heading）
  • 第3級：靠左對齊、斜體、大小寫標題（Flush Left, Italicized, Uppercase and Lowercase Side Heading）
  • 第4級：縮排、斜體、小寫標題，最後加句號（Indented, italicized, lowercase paragraph heading ending with a period）
  • 第5級：置中大寫標題（CENTERED UPPERCASE HEADING）

根據APA格式，若文章標題有：

  • 1個級數：使用第1級標題
  • 2個級數：使用第1和第3級標題
  • 3個級數：使用第1、第3、和第4級標題
  • 4個級數：使用第1、第2、第3、和第4級標題
  • 5個級數：使用第5、第1、第2、第3、和第4級標題

（按：2個級數以上以大標題→小標題方式使用）

注意：

  1. 目前並無六級以上的標題規定。
  2. APA格式不允許「數字」和「單一字母」出現在標題之首。

文獻引用 编辑

文獻引用是在一篇文章的段落或文字之中「參考來源」的標註。APA格式使用哈佛参考文献格式，通常來說，一個引用包含了作者名和發表日期，以括號夾註（有時會再加上頁數），放在引用文字或句子之後。

詳細的引用或參考資料則放在位於文章最後的「參考文獻」或「Works Cited」部分。APA格式明確的定義「參考文獻」只放入文章內容引用的來源，所以有些文章才會有「參考文獻（Reference）」和「Bibliography」的分別。（Bibliography另外包含了作者背景知識的來源，不一定是直接被引用的文獻。）

單一作者 编辑

格式應為「（作者姓氏（非首字母），發表年份）」。若作者姓名在文章中已被提及，只需標出年份就好（若需要可加上頁數），仍需使用括號。多位作者以上同理。

  • A recent study found a possible genetic cause of alcoholism (Pauling, 2005).
  • Pauling (2005) discovered a possible genetic cause of alcoholism.

兩位作者 编辑

作者姓氏必須以他們的名字在其發表文章內的順序來排序。若兩個作者都在括號內引用，名字中間需加上「＆」符號；若不在括號內則使用「and」。

  • A recent study found a possible genetic cause of alcoholism (Pauling & Liu, 2005).
  • Pauling and Liu (2005) discovered a possible genetic cause of alcoholism.

3至5位作者 编辑

第一次引用時需列舉全部的作者，往後若引用相同的文獻，只需舉出最主要的作者，再加上「et al.」。但是，在參考文獻部分，全部作者的姓名皆須列舉出來。

  • A recent study found a possible genetic cause of alcoholism (Pauling, Liu, & Guo, 2005).
  • Pauling, Liu, and Guo (2005) conducted a study that discovered a possible genetic cause of alcoholism.
  • Pauling et al. (2005) discovered a possible genetic cause of alcoholism.

6位作者以上 编辑

舉出第一位作者即可，格式應為「（作者 et al.，年份）」。在參考文獻部分，全部作者的姓名皆須列舉出來。

  • Pauling et al. (2005) discovered a possible genetic cause of alcoholism.

多篇文獻，同一作者 编辑

若一作者有多篇你想引用的文獻，只需用逗號來區隔作品的發表年份（最早到最晚依序排列）。若多篇文獻在同一年內發表，請在年份後面加上a、b、c……等標註。（按：abc的使用需與參考文獻部分有所對應，而這些文獻的編排以標題名稱的字母來決定。）

  • A recent study found a possible genetic cause of alcoholism (Pauling, 2004, 2005a, 2005b).
  • Pauling (2004, 2005a, 2005b) conducted a study that discovered a possible genetic cause of alcoholism

多篇文獻，多位作者 编辑

根據上一個的規則，並且使用分號隔開。排序先依照作者姓氏的字母，接著是發表年份。

  • A recent study found a possible genetic cause of alcoholism (Alford, 1995; Sirkis, 2003; Pauling, 2004, 2005)

直接引述 编辑

格式與前述無不同，一樣為「（作者，年份，頁數）」。

  • When asked why his behavior had changed so dramatically, Max simply said "I think it's the reinforcement" (Pauling, 2004, p. 69).

參考文獻清單 编辑

APA格式規定「參考文獻」部分的人名必須以姓氏的字母順序來排列，包括姓氏的前綴。譬如，Martin de Rijke應被改成「De Rijke, M.」；Saif Al Falasi則改成「Al-Falasi, Saif.」。（阿拉伯文名字通常在姓氏和前綴之間加上連字號「−」，所以姓氏和前綴自成一體。）
