芒草 （学名 ：Miscanthus 芒屬 或芒草屬 植物的統稱，含有約15到20個物種 ，屬禾本科 。原生於非洲 與亞洲 的亞熱帶 與熱帶 地區。其中一個物種中國芒 （M. sinensis ）的生長範圍延伸到了溫帶 亞洲，包括日本 與韓國 。

一部分的芒屬植物，如中國芒 與巨芒（M. giganteus ，又名大象草），被應用來作能源作物，以生產生物燃料 ，主要為酒精 。也有一些芒草培養用來作為觀賞植物。更多則以雜草 的形式，生存於野外或人工設施周圍。
