杜魯門州立大學
杜鲁门州立大学（Truman State University）成立於1867年，是一所美国密苏里州的公立大学，位于密苏里州东北部的柯克斯維爾。该大学前稱东北密苏里州立大学[5]（Northeast Missouri State University），又译密苏里州立东北大学[6]，1996年改为现名，纪念唯一出生于密苏里州的美国总统哈里·杜鲁门。

杜鲁门州立大学最初为密苏里州东北的一个区域性公立师范学校，后逐渐发展成全州性人文与科学大学。2014年，该校有30个本科和6个研究生专业，共有6,156名注册学生[3]。根据2021年美国新闻与世界报道的排名，杜鲁门州立大学在美国中西部区域性大学中列第7名[7]，且连续24年為中西部區域性公立大學第一名[8]。 2014年新生入取率為74.5%。
学校历史 编辑
杜鲁门州立大学由师范教育先驱约瑟夫·鲍德温（Joseph Baldwin）于1867年创立，最初名为“北密苏里师范及商业学校”。1870年，该校成为密苏里州第一所公立师范学校[9]，其学区覆盖密苏里州25个县。
1972年，该校改名为“东北密苏里州立大学”。1985年，州长约翰·阿什克罗夫特签署法令确立该校为密苏里州唯一全州范围的人文与科学公立大学；这使得该大学从原来东北部区域性大学转变为全州性大学[9]。
到1990年代，该大学不再是单一的师范学校，已拥有全国知名的会计专业以及科学、数学、计算机科学、文学等学院。1995年，州长梅尔·卡纳罕（Mel Carnahan）签署法令，该大学改名为杜鲁门州立大学，以体现该大学的全州性，并向美国总统中唯一出生于密苏里的哈里·杜鲁门致敬[9]。
