拉丁字母擴展-A是Unicode標準下的第二個Unicode區塊。它包含了ISO/IEC 8859標準中的拉丁字母字符（但已編碼於拉丁字母補充-1區塊的Latin-1除外），以及ISO/IEC 6937（英语：T.51/ISO/IEC 6937）標準中遺留的拉丁字母字符。

歐洲拉丁字母子標題囊括了拉丁字母擴展-A區塊中除了U+0149 ʼn LATIN SMALL LETTER N PRECEDED BY APOSTROPHE之外的所有字符。它包含了帶有附加符號的變體大寫和小寫拉丁字母，大多數用于書寫東歐語言。[6]

廢棄字母 编辑

廢棄字母子標題僅包含U+0149，該字符的存在是爲了兼容ISO/IEC 6937（英语：T.51/ISO/IEC 6937）標準。[5]自5.2.0版本起該字符廢棄[7]，其注釋為：“U+0149 LATIN SMALL LETTER N PRECEDED BY APOSTROPHE是為了南非語的使用而編碼的。該字符已廢棄，並強烈建議不使用。”在幾乎所有的情况下，用撇號加上“n”來表示此字符更佳（’n）[6]。
