穆納罕出生于纽约州宾厄姆顿。^[2] 她母亲有着爱尔兰血统，名叫“玛丽·布丽姬”。^[3] 她父亲名叫“爱德华·布丽姬·穆納罕”，是马萨诸塞大学阿默斯特分校的科学家和教授。^[2] 她有两个弟弟，名叫“安迪”和“肖恩”。^[3] 7岁时，她的父母搬到了东隆美多。^[2] 她在东隆美多高级中学读书，她嗜好体育运动，最爱女式足球、篮球和曲棍球。^[4] 1989年，她从东隆美多高级中学毕业。^[5] 她说，童年时，她就像一个假小子。^[2]
