加利福尼亚州州检察长

加利福尼亚州州检察长（英語：Attorney General of California），是加利福尼亚州政府的州检察长。依据加利福尼亚州宪法，加州州检察长的职责是确保加州的法律能广泛、有效、合理的施行。^[1]加州州检察长是加利福尼亚州司法厅（英语：California Department of Justice）的最高长官，该部门大约拥有1100名检察官和3700名其他雇员。

职位历史

尽管加州州检察长的职位可以追溯到加州刚加入美国的时候，但该职位现今的模式起源于1934年的加州宪法第4条，该条款由时任旧金山湾区阿拉梅达县检察长的厄尔·沃伦提出，这是他当时提出的4项改革加州司法部门和执法部门的提案之一。在此之前，加州检察总长不具有监管州内各地区的检察官以及治安官的权力。^[6] 1938年，沃伦当选新一任的加州检察总长，他在任内将州内的执法部门按地区进行了重组。
