麦比乌斯环形山

麦比乌斯环形山（Möbius）是位于月球背面北半部的一座大撞击坑，其名称取自德国数学家、理论天文学家暨拓扑学先驱"奥古斯特·费迪南德·莫比乌斯"(1790年-1868年)，1970年被国际天文学联合会批准接受[1]。

该陨坑西北靠近波波夫环形山、东南毗邻更大的赫兹环形山、金泽尔环形山位于它的西南偏西，北面分布着杰武尔斯基链坑，而它的西南则坐落着界海[3]。该陨坑中心月面坐标为15°38′N 101°08′E / 15.63°N 101.13°E / 15.63; 101.13，直径48.96公里[4]，深度约2.33公里[5]。

麦比乌斯环形山外观轮廓呈多边形状，坑壁已明显磨损和侵蚀，西侧壁切入了一座小撞击坑，而南侧壁因另一座小陨坑的撞击而几乎完全损毁。该环形山坑壁最大高出周边地形1110米[5]，内部容积约有1906公里3[5]。碗状的坑底相对平坦，显示散布有一些细小的陨坑，西南部地表反照率显得较周围区域更高。

在1970年被国际天文学联合会命名前，该环形山曾被称作"第196号陨石坑"[6]。
