阿斯顿陨石坑

阿斯顿陨石坑（Aston）是位于月球正面西北边沿的一座古撞击坑，约形成于39.2-38.5亿年前的酒海纪[1]，其名称取自英国物理学家"弗朗西斯·威廉·阿斯顿"(Francis William Aston，1877年-1945年)，1964年被国际天文学联合会正式批准接受。

阿斯顿陨石坑的周边，月球背面区域详图[2]。

该陨坑西侧靠近伦琴环形山，往东一段距离毗邻位于风暴洋西侧的乌鲁贝格环形山，而南面则是大小类似的沃斯克列先斯基环形山[3]。

该陨坑中心月面坐标为32°46′N 87°41′W / 32.77°N 87.68°W / 32.77; -87.68，直径44.48公里[4]，深度约2.27公里[1]。

阿斯顿陨石坑外观圆状，边缘轮廓尚未被相邻环形山所改变，但坑壁因后续的撞击而磨损和钝化。该陨坑最大高出周边地形1070米[1]，内部容积约1527公里3[1]。坑底表面较为平坦，除散布有一些小陨坑外，没有中央峰及其它醒目的地貌结构。

该陨坑以前曾被称作卫星坑"乌鲁贝格 E"。由于位处月球边沿，对它的观察受制于月球摄动。
