沙佩环形山

沙佩环形山（Chappe）是位于月球正面西南边沿上的一座撞击坑，约形成于39.2-38.5亿年前的酒海纪^[1]，其名称取自法国天文学家让-巴蒂斯特·沙普·达奥特罗什（Jean-François Pilâtre de Rozier，1722年-1769年），1994年被国际天文学联合会批准接受。

该陨坑位于形成于酒海纪期，直径630公里的孟德尔-里德伯盆地以南，西北偏北靠近布兰查德陨石坑、东南偏东毗邻潘格雷环形山，南面坐落了与之相接壤巨大环壁平原—豪森环形山以及大小类似的皮拉特尔环形山^[2]。该陨坑中心月面坐标为61°17′S 91°14′W / 61.29°S 91.24°W / -61.29; -91.24，直径55.79公里^[3]，深度约2.426公里^[1]。

沙佩环形山坐落在更大的豪森环形山北侧坑壁上，环周边月表为丘状起伏的不规则地形。陨坑外观轮廓大体圆状，沿东侧壁覆盖了一座小陨坑，内侧壁及坑底，尤其是西半部地表粗糙坎坷，它的坑壁最大高出周边地形1170米^[1]，内部容积约2577.05立方千米^[1]。

该陨坑在1994年更名前，曾被称作卫星坑“豪森 A”（所谓的“卫星坑标记法”：以所靠近的主坑名+字母来命名）。
