彼得·沙洛維

彼得·沙洛维（Peter Salovey，1958年2月21日—），美国社会心理学家、现任耶鲁大学校长。他曾担任耶鲁大学教务长、耶鲁大学艺术与科学研究生院院长、耶鲁大学学院院长。沙洛维是情緒商數理論的先驱之一。

早年生活

1958年，沙洛维出生于马萨诸塞州剑桥。 ^[1]他是注册护士伊莱恩·沙洛维 (Elaine Salovey) 和南加州大学物理化学家兼化学工程和材料科学教授罗纳德·沙洛维 (Ronald Salovey) 的长子。 ^{[2] [3]}

沙洛维早年生活在新泽西州新普罗维登斯，於纽约州布法罗郊区的威廉姆斯维尔北高中 (Williamsville North High School)就读高中。1975年，他搬到洛杉矶郊区，当时他的父亲为南加洲大学 (University of Southern) 教授。^[4] 1976 年，他於罗灵丘陵庄园的一所高中以畢業生代表身份毕业。期後他進入斯坦福大学，並获得心理学学士学位和社会学硕士学位，更获得院系荣誉。在斯坦福大学期间，他曾担任同伴心理諮商師，后来他跟人合著了一本关于该领域的教科书。 ^[5]

學術生涯

从斯坦福大学毕业后，沙洛维搬到紐黑文繼續攻读博士。在朱迪思·罗丹的指导下，在耶鲁大学获得心理学博士学位。期後他在紐黑文退伍军人管理局医疗中心实习，最後於1986 年从耶鲁大学毕业^[6]。同年成為耶鲁大学心理学系助理教授。1995年成為教授。目前於耶鲁大学管理学院、公共卫生学院、社会学系以及社会与政策研究所担任教员。同為克里斯·阿吉里斯心理学教授。

沙洛维最大贡献為情商领域。他与约翰·D·梅尔 (John D. Mayer)發展了該領域，并撰写了几篇该领域的开创性论文。他认为人们在情绪控制、推理和感知方面都具有广泛的認知。 ^[7]沙洛维和梅尔反对將情感商數视为智力商數的對立，认为情感在正确引导下都有一定的成果。^[8][9]随后，他致力發展情商模型和测试，如Mayer-Salovey-Caruso 情商测试。沙洛维的第二个研究领域是健康心理学，他把社会心理学原理融入健康範疇，由此促进降低艾滋病毒感染风险、早期癌症检测和戒烟。沙洛维共撰写及编辑了 13 本书、被翻译成 11 种语言，并发表了 350 多篇期刊文章和论文。

行政生涯

沙洛维在耶魯大學任職教授時，當中有十年担任不同的行政职务。2003 年 1 月他成为艺术与科学研究生院院长。次年，他接替理查德·布罗德海德担任耶鲁学院院长。 2008年10月，他接替安德鲁·汉密尔顿担任耶鲁大学教务长。 ^[10]任職教务长時，沙洛维因经济大衰退以致預算削減。但他還是推動了耶鲁大学西校区的扩建、耶魯-新加坡國大學院的成立、进行了艺术与科学学院终身聘任政策的改革，并彻底改革了性侵投诉程序。 ^{[11] [12] [13] [14] [15]}

2012年8月，當理查德·莱文退休前四年，就已傳出沙洛維會接替耶魯大學校長一職。^[16]在竞选中，沙洛维更成為大熱。2012 年 11 月，耶魯大學正式宣布沙洛維为第 23 任校长。^{[17] [18] [19]}2013年7月1日正式上任。 ^[20]

2014年秋天，耶鲁大学校长官邸建成。沙洛维是自 1986 年以来第一位住進校長官邸的校长。 ^[21][22]

2023年8月31日，沙洛维宣布將會辞去耶鲁大学校长职务，并于2024年6月30日重返教职^[23]

榮譽

为了表彰他的研究贡献，沙洛維获得了美国国家科学基金会总统青年研究员奖、美国国家癌症研究所CIS 研究合作伙伴奖以及药物滥用和心理健康服务管理局卓越奖。美国心理学会健康心理学分部（第38分部）授予他高级专业奖，以表彰他对健康心理学的杰出贡献。他在耶鲁大学获得了两项卓越教学奖：William Clyde DeVane 奖章和 Lex Hixon '63 社会科学卓越教学奖。其他荣誉包括比勒陀利亚大学、上海交通大学、哈佛大学、麦吉尔大学、国立清华大学、海法大学和维陶塔斯马格努斯大学所頒授的荣誉学位，以及美国国家医学院和美国科学院院士和美國文理科學院院士。 ^[24][25][26]
