1871年，安利（英语：Unley, South Australia）、黑森林（英语：Black Forest, South Australia）、高活（英语：Goodwood, South Australia）、富來頓（英语：Fullarton, South Australia）幾個地區合共2,000名居民聯署請願信，要求南澳州總督批准其區域脫離美知咸區議會（英语：District Council of Mitcham）管治，獨立成鎮；是為安利公司市鎮（英語：Corporate Town of Unley）。1880年，安利市政局大會堂落成。1906年，安利公司市鎮獲升格為安利市，為南澳州第三個獲升格為市級之區域（於阿德萊德市及阿德萊德港市之後）。[5]
