千島櫻

千島櫻（学名：Prunus nipponica var. kurilensis^[2] )是高嶺櫻的變種，與高嶺櫻區別為本變種葉柄及花梗有毛^[2]。

特徵编辑

花期晚，在5-7月。花色因不同個體有所差異，呈粉色至白色，亦存在重瓣個體^[9]。千島櫻作為北海道根室市觀測花期的標本木，該標本木平均開花日5月16日，平均盛開5月21日^[10]

用途编辑

千島櫻常作為觀賞用櫻花，花色有個體差異；從千島櫻族群選拔出的「国後陽紅（くなしりようこう）」，花色較一般千島櫻深紅^[11]^[12]；該品種在北海道三笠市五月上旬開花^[13]。

千島櫻除用作觀賞外，也用作甜櫻桃的育種親本^[14]，以及甜櫻桃砧木育種。目前德國有育出數個以千島櫻為親本的甜櫻桃砧木^[15]^[16]；日本則有從北海道內的原生千島櫻族群中選拔出用作甜櫻桃砧木的品種「チシマ台１号」，與甜櫻桃親和性好且能有效矮化甜櫻桃樹體^[17]^[18]。
