Internet Explorer 10（簡稱IE10）是微軟開發的網頁瀏覽器，為Internet Explorer 9的下一代，也是Windows 8的預設瀏覽器。IE10在IE9的基础上增强CSS3解析及硬件加速功能^[2]，并支持HTML5。

在Windows 8中，其将分为两个不同的版本，并使用不同的用户界面：其中新的Metro将不再支持插件，而传统的桌面程序将仍然保留插件支持^[3]。默认情况下，64位元Windows 8上的Metro IE 10将在64位元模式下运行^[4]。

在2011年4月12日，微软推出首个“IE10平台预览版”，并只能运行于Windows 7^[5][6]，而后续的预览版只能在Windows 8上运行。预览版在IE9正式版发布四周后就被釋出，因而有人认为这是在新一轮浏览器大战下而采取高速发布周期^[7]。

2020年1月将停止支持，不再提供任何安全更新^[8]。

历史

Internet Explorer 10最早公布于2011年4月12日美國拉斯维加斯的MIX11发布会上^[9]。在这场发布会上，微软展示演示版的IE 10和演示版的Windows 8^[10]。而在同一天，微软在Internet Explorer Test Drive网站上发布Internet Exploere 10的平台预览版^[2]。当时的预览版只支持Windows 7，而后来的预览版则只能在Windows 8上运行。测试版和候选发布版则都可以支持Windows 7^[11]。

评论者对Internet Explorer 10平台预览版发布的看法各有不同；然而他们指出，继IE 9后很快发布（29天后）的预览版将是微软所说的下一代浏览器。当eWeek的唐·赖辛格（Don Reisinger）列出他对下一版本的功能请求时，PC Magzine的邁克爾·馬奇摩爾（Michael Muchmore）测试平台预览版1在加载微软及第三方套件时的性能及对HTML5的支持情况^[12][13]。

在2011年9月13日，微软为普通用户发布Windows 8开发者预览版，其中就包含Internet Explorer 10开发者预览版（首个完整版的IE10）^[14]。虽然在Mozilla Firefox、Google Chrome、Opera和Safari这几个主要浏览器，IE是最后支持拼写检查的，但它却开创桌面浏览器自動校正的先例^{[15][16][17][18]}。Firefox的开发组织Mozilla如同微软IE开发团队以前所做的，在IE10随Windows 8一同发布时向其赠送蛋糕祝贺。^[19][20]

在2012年5月31日随Windows 8 Release Preview发布的IE 10 Release Preview，引进了一些新的特性，如支持

• 渐变（CSS图像值和替换内容）, gradient
• CSS动画（animation）
• CSS过渡（transition）
• CSS变换（transform）
• font-feature-settings属性（CSS字体）
• 索引数据库API
• 基于脚本的动画的时间控制

等功能的无前缀形式。IE10 Release Preview是最新规范的第一个公开无前缀实施。但为确保与使用Windows 8 Consumer Preview开发的网站和应用的兼容性，IE10仍将继续支持这些（IE 10 Consumer Preview所采用的）标准使用Microsoft供应商前缀（‑ms‑/ms）的供应商前缀形式。^[21][22]

IE 10 Release Preview还增加了提供PNG磁贴图像并指定磁贴背景颜色的功能。这可以提供更高分辨率的视觉效果，以便通过用户的固定网站磁贴更好地展现网站品牌。^[23]IE 10 RP也新增了一些其它特性，包括从所有的模式中（而不仅仅是IE 10标准模式）均删除了旧的DX filter，同时可在默认情况下向网站发送“不跟踪”的信号，帮助用户保护其私人信息。^[24]此外，Chakra的性能同样得到了优化，如浮点数操作比IE 9快50%。^[25]

Internet Explorer 10不再以如下特性为特征或支持如下特性^[35]：

• 元素行为和HTML组件（HTCs）
• XML数据岛
• VML语言
• 內容警告器（被Windows Parental Controls和微軟家長監護服務取代）

用户代理字符串

Internet Explorer 10拥有新的具有下列特性的用户代理字符串^[36]：

Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; MSIE 10.0; Windows NT 6.2; [platform token] Trident/6.0; Touch)

这个字符串的不同部分会随着系统信息而改变。最后一个标记「Touch」只能出现于配备触摸屏的设备。操作平台标记如下：
