阿伏伽德罗环形山

阿伏伽德罗环形山（Avogadro）是月球背面北半部一座古老的大撞击坑，约形成于45.5-39.2亿年前的前酒海纪[1]，其名称取自意大利物理学家暨化学家阿梅代奥·阿伏伽德罗，1970年被国际天文学联合会批准接受。

该陨坑西北偏北毗邻谢尔勒鲁普环形山、西侧靠近奥伯特陨石坑、巨大的环壁平原-达朗伯环形山位于它的南面更远处、它的西南偏西坐落了山本一清环形山、而东南则与季霍夫环形山相接壤[3]。该陨坑中心月面坐标为63°13′N 165°22′E / 63.21°N 165.36°E / 63.21; 165.36，直径129.84公里[4]，深度2.95公里[5]。

阿伏伽德罗环形山已被后续撞击严重侵蚀和磨损，其坑壁略胜于一圈环陨坑洼地的圆形边缘，较周边地形最大高度约1690米[1]。该陨坑内部容积21000公里3[1]，坑底地面密布了大量大小不一的小陨石坑，而这些小陨坑中的许多也已磨损，只在坑底表面留下了一些隐约的痕迹。
