聖法蘭西斯禱文

聖方濟各的禱文（英語：Prayer of Saint Francis）是基督徒的禱文，被假托為13世紀聖徒聖法蘭西斯（聖方濟各）所作，但沒有證據能證明此禱文在1912年以前已經存在^[1]。這篇禱文自1936年起於美國流行，紐約總主教弗兰西斯·斯贝尔曼和參議員侯勤士（Albert W. Hawkes）於第二次世界大戰期間，開始大量印發這篇禱文^[2]。

主啊！使我做祢和平之子；

在仇恨之處，播下愛；

在傷害之處，播下寬恕；

在懷疑之處，播下信心；

在絕望之處，播下盼望；

在幽暗之處，播下光明；

在憂愁之處，播下歡愉。

主啊！使我少為自己求；

少求愛，但求全心付出愛；

少求得安慰，但求安慰人；

少求被瞭解，但求多瞭解人

因為在捨去時，我們有所得；

在赦免時，我們便蒙赦免；

在死亡時，我們便得重生，進入永恆。

Where there is hatred, let me sow love.

Where there is injury, pardon.

Where there is doubt, faith.

Where there is despair, hope.

Where there is darkness, light.

Where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master,

grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled, as to console;

to be understood, as to understand;

to be loved, as to love.

For it is in giving that we receive.

It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,

and it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life.
