科學院

科學院（academy of sciences）是一個學會（learned society）或學術機構的種類，專門於各種受或不受資助的科学研究。部分受國家或州份資助的科學院後來演化成為國家學院（美國）或皇家学会（英國），作為對這些科學院的一種榮譽。相對於其他學術方面的學院，還有文學院，又或多於一個範疇的學院，如美國的美国文理科学院。
