歐裔澳大利亞人
歐裔澳大利亞人（英文：European Australians）是指祖先源自歐洲，現在居住在澳大利亞的後裔，為澳大利亞最大的族裔。19世紀初期，澳大利亞絕大多數的人都有歐裔血統，這使人們將澳大利亞視為歐洲國家。歷史上，歐洲移民對澳大利亞的社會文化產生了巨大影響。[4][5]

英國海外領土新南威爾斯殖民地首次建立於1788年1月26日[9]，由亞瑟·菲利普船長所建立，此建立日期後來成為澳大利亞國慶節（澳大利亞日），新南威爾斯殖民地範圍還包含現在的紐西蘭群島，直到1841年成為獨立的殖民地為止。[10]

澳大利亞歐洲裔人口從1800年的0.3％上升至1850年的58.6％。[24]在1868年，歐裔澳大利亞人人口為1,539,552。[25]
澳大利亞大量土地被用於農業和其他目的，除了對特定地區的生態產生了明顯影響外，還透過掠奪資源、居住空間和食物來剝奪澳大利亞原住民的生存空間；歐裔移民者帶來了傳染病使澳大利亞原住民染病死亡。在1788年至1930年代之間的的衝突導致至少20,000澳大利亞土著居民和2,000至2,500名歐洲裔死亡。[26]
在19世紀，愛爾蘭人佔了澳大利亞歐洲裔人口的25％[12]；德國裔為澳大利亞除了英國之外最大的歐裔移民社群。[27]
1971年，移民澳大利亞的海外十大出生地中有九個來自歐洲國家，佔海外出生人口總數的77.2％。來自英國的人仍然是最大的群體。但是，它們在海外出生人口總數中的比例有所下降，從1971年的40.6％（1,046,356）下降到2016年的17.7％（1,078,064）。[28]
