博伊西（英語：Boise）是美国爱达荷州的首府，也是該州最大的城市及埃達郡的縣治，另外又是波夕都會區、別稱寶藏谷（英语：Treasure Valley）的中心城市。

名稱由來

波夕的名字由來始於最先到此探索的陷阱捕獸者（trapper），他們在跨越一片乾旱地區後發現了這片遍佈棉白楊（cottonwoods）的河邊地方，於是給了這個地方「boisé」的名稱，意思為「多樹的」；因為這個原因，波夕後來即被稱做樹城（City of Trees）。

原本的博伊西堡（Fort Boise）位於現今城市西方40英哩，在博伊西河靠近與蛇河匯流的下游處、奧勒岡州的邊境。這個堡壘起先是由哈得遜灣公司（Hudson's Bay Company）在1830年代時設立，但在1850年代時被遺棄。在奧勒岡小徑（Oregon Trail）上不時發生的屠殺事件迫使美國陸軍於1863年南北戰爭時在附近重新設立一個堡壘。這個新地點被選擇的原因是第一，它靠近奧勒岡小徑，再來則是靠近通往波夕盆地（愛達荷市）與歐喜（Owyhee）採礦區這兩個當時正在蓬勃發展地方的道路。愛達荷市是這個地方起先最大的城市，但波夕堡、做為愛達荷市的前置地方、迅速成長，隨即波夕市政府於1864年成立。愛達荷州的第一個州府位於劉易斯頓，不過州府於1865年遷至波夕。
