历史 新加坡 在1970年以前，其国内与央行相关的各种货币职能由多个政府部门和机构负责管理。但随着新加坡的经济腾飞 ，国际金融环境 也日益复杂，对于金融主管机构的职权进行厘清与精简化势在必行。于是在1970年新加坡国会 通过了《新加坡金融管理局法令》[7] 中央银行 与金融监管职能。[8] 保险业 之监管职能转移到新加坡金管局之下，后在1984年9月政府又将证券业 之监管职能亦转入其下。2002年10月1日，新加坡金管局与货币委员会合并，金管局从此也开始负担起货币 发行的职能。[8]
