拉克斯·彼得

拉克斯·彼得（匈牙利語：Lax Péter，1926年5月1日—），全名拉克斯·彼得·达维德（匈牙利語：Lax Péter Dávid，英語：Peter David Lax），匈牙利裔美国数学家，參與了曼哈頓計畫。研究的领域与成就主要有可积分系统（英语：Integrable system）、流体动力学和激波、孤波物理学、双曲守恒律（hyperbolic conservation laws），以及数学与计算科学等领域。

生平

拉克斯生于布达佩斯的一个犹太人家庭。1941年跟随父母（Klara Kornfield 与 Henry Lax，都是医生）移民美国纽约市，并就读于史岱文森高中^[2]。1948年，他与数学家阿內利·卡恩（英语：Anneli Cahn Lax）结婚。

1947年，拉克斯获得纽约大学数学学士，1949年取得博士学位，指导老师是卡特·奧托·佛萊德里克斯（英语：Kurt Otto Friedrichs）。
