希波克拉底环形山

希波克拉底环形山（Hippocrates）是月球背面北极区附近一座古老的大撞击坑，约形成于39.2-38.5亿年前的酒海纪[1]，其名称取古希腊医师希波克拉底（约公元前460年-公元前277年），1970年该名称被国际天文学联合会正式接受。

该陨坑西北靠近稍大的蒂森环形山、北面毗邻略小的海曼斯陨石坑，梅津采夫环形山和斯特宾斯环形山分别位于它的西侧和南面、西南则坐落了柯克伍德环形山[2]。该陨坑中心月面坐标为70°16′S 146°32′W / 70.26°S 146.54°W / -70.26; -146.54，直径59.24公里[3]，深约2.71公里[1]。

由于后续的撞击侵蚀，希波克拉底环形山已成为一座相对破损的陨石坑，虽然整体坑壁轮廓仍清晰可见，但沿边缘覆盖了一系列大小不同的撞击坑，其中位于东侧坑壁上的一座小陨坑最为醒目，略为宽坦的南侧内壁带有一道突起的山脊。该陨坑坑壁平均高出周边地形1200米[1]，内部容积约2960.18立方千米[1]。坑内地表相对平坦，除内壁及坑底散布有许多细小的坑穴外，没有其它醒目的地貌特征。
