2011年6月24日，纽约州将同性婚姻合法化之后，尼爾·派屈克·哈里斯在推特上宣布向大衛·柏卡求婚并成功。2014年9月8日，哈里斯在Twitter上公佈，他與柏卡兩人已在意大利舉行婚禮。
