台湾马醉木
台湾马醉木（学名：Pieris taiwanensis Hayata）为杜鹃花科马醉木属下的一个种。別名為台灣梫木、台灣桂木。是常綠性的矮灌木，主要生長環境為向陽坡面。全世界馬醉木屬的植物有十種，台灣只有一種，即為台灣馬醉木。是少數台灣原生物種從低海拔一直到三千多公尺海拔都有分布的物種，北部在低海拔山區即有出現，南部則分布在稍高海拔的地區。花期為三月到六月。

葉為革質，全緣倒批針型，葉子為綠色，幼葉為粉紅或紅色，葉叢生。花長約一公分，為白色花瓣，下垂呈現半展開的燈籠狀，總狀或圓錐花序，看起來一大串。
命名 编辑
台灣馬醉木全株有毒，馬吃了會像喝醉一樣昏倒不醒，所以稱之。莖葉、種子有劇毒。

Pieris taiwanensis Hayata is a species of the genus Rhododendron. It is an evergreen shrub 1-3m high, bark smooth, with a main growing environment on the sunny slope. There are ten species of plants in the world, and there is only one species in Taiwan. The leaves are coriaceous, oblanceolate to lanceolate-oblong. The leaves are green above, pale beneath, the midrib strongly raised above, slightly raised beneath, the foliation are pink or red, and the leaves are fasciculate. The flower is about one centimeter long and is a white petal with a semi-expanded lantern-like shape and a large inflorescence cymose or raceme.
