印度门 (孟买)

印度門（马拉特语：भारताचे प्रवेशद्वार；英语：Gateway of India），是建於20世紀初的拱門式紀念碑，位於印度馬哈拉施特拉邦的孟買市。它是為了紀念第一位蒞臨印度的英國國王而建造的。1911年12月，印度皇帝-英王喬治五世和瑪麗皇后到達孟買時，紀念門尚未修建，只以紙板結構來迎接君主。1914年，建築師喬治·維特（George Wittet）結合了16世紀古吉拉特的建築元素，以印度撒拉遜風格設計的紀念門，得到認可，並於1924年完成。由玄武岩製成的紀念門，高26米（85英尺）。

印度門在馬哈拉施特拉邦的位置

印度門位於海濱的一角，俯瞰阿拉伯海，對面是具有百年歷史，豪華的泰姬瑪哈酒店。自建成後，就成為殖民地官員進入英屬印度儀式的一個入口，它被稱為紀念英國殖民歷史的“征服和殖民”（conquest and colonization）的象徵，也是1948年印度獨立後，最後一批英軍離開印度的紀念碑。今天，這座門是孟買市的代名詞，並且是主要的旅遊景點之一，是當地人、街頭小販和攝影師的聚集地。自2003年以來，它也是光明節慶祝活動的場所，對當地的猶太社區具有重要意義。入口處有5個碼頭，其中2個用於商業渡輪。
