凯恩环形山

凯恩环形山（Kane）是位于月球正面冷海东北边沿的一座撞击坑残迹，约形成于45.5-39.2亿年前的前酒海纪[1]，其名称取自美国北极探险家伊莱沙·肯特·凯恩（英语：Elisha Kent Kane）（Elisha Kent Kane，1820年-1857年），1935年被国际天文学联合会正式接受。

该陨坑西侧靠近克·迈尔陨石坑、北面和东北毗邻尼森环形山和阿诺尔德环形山，外形不规则的德谟克利特陨石坑位于它的东面、它的东南和西南分别坐落了大残迹坑-格特纳环形山和较小的希普尚克斯陨石坑，而南面则伸展着希普尚克斯月溪[2]。该陨坑中心月面坐标为62°59′N 25°50′E / 62.99°N 25.84°E / 62.99; 25.84，直径54.96公里[3]，深约2.42公里[1]。

凯恩环形山外观接近圆状，因存续期悠长，几乎已完全损毁。磨损的坑壁现已变成一圈嶙峋错落的山丘环，其坑壁最大高出周边地形1170米[1]，内部容积约为2489.346立方千米[1]。坑内已被从西南裂口中涌入的冷海熔岩淹没，平坦的坑底上除散布有一些细小的穴坑外，没有其它醒目的地貌特征。
